Summit Update – July 2016

Another gorgeous summer day in the mountains… Event season is in full swing with plenty of people taking advantage of all the free entertainment and cool mountain air. Boats, wildflowers and eaglets are out! Updated event calendar available on my web site – I’m trying to help you have the most fun possible!

Of course you want to spend more time playing and less time on I-70 – so download the CDOT App or check for road updates, and consider getting an ExpressToll account to get back to Denver faster in the toll lane (if you don’t have the transponder you can still use the lane but it costs a little more).

Featured neighborhood: Frisco. Live in the middle of everything in a walkable historic town, with 3 ski areas only 10 minutes away, close to the lake, with plenty of summer festivals and events. Available properties: HOMESCONDOS & TOWNHOMES click the MLS# for details

Market snapshot: “Affordable” and unique properties are still selling quickly, many with multiple offers. The majority of buyers continue to be from the Denver metro area, but I’m hearing from more people from warmer states that want a summer home here. They plan on renting to vacationers in the winter, which is when most rental income is generated… that makes sense to me! Someday I’ll be one of those summer people…

Modern Mountain trend gains popularity in Summit CountyThere’s a new trend in home design that’s captivated the West. Referred to as “Modern Mountain” the trend has been rapidly gaining popularity in Summit County. In its simplest explanation, it’s a fusion of a traditional mountain home mixed with modern elements.

Summit hits record lodging rates for all seasons In mountain resort communities, the appeal of the milder, summer months is gaining renown among visitors. While many of the towns are still synonymous with powder days and cozy mountain lodges, summer brings its own special charm with a wide range of outdoor activities. “Summer is just two to three years in being discovered by the out-of-state visitor. People are booking further in advance for summer. More than half of this summer’s reservation activity is already on the books and deposited as of May 1.” Summit Daily article
